Kainoa “KJ” Harrison

Born and raised in Kailua on Oʻahu, Kainoa “KJ” Harrison is a Real Estate Agent with Team Wong Hawaii at Hawaiʻi Modern Realty, known for his client-first approach, strong relationships, and calm, confident guidance throughout the buying and selling process. KJ primarily serves Oʻahu, with the ability to help clients statewide across the Hawaiian Islands through Team Wong’s network.

KJ specializes in helping first-time home buyers, growing families, and buyers who want a clear strategy and strong communication, while also expanding his work in the Hawaiʻi luxury market. His service areas include Hawaiʻi Kai, Kahala, Diamond Head, Kailua, Kāneʻohe, and Mānoa, with deep hyper-local knowledge in neighborhoods such as Portlock, Lanikai, Aina Haina, Niu Valley, Kuliʻouʻou, Hawaiʻi Loa Ridge, Waialae Iki, Waialae Nui Ridge, Black Point, Kahala Avenue, Koko Head Terrace, Mariners Ridge, Mariners Cove, Hahaʻione, Enchanted Lake, Maunawili, Keolu Hills, Aikahi, and Kaimalino.

Before real estate, KJ was a professional baseball player, competing at Oregon State University, playing in the College World Series, and representing Team USA. He was drafted in the 3rd round in 2017, earned All-American honors, and played professionally through the minor leagues up to Double-A, including time with the Milwaukee Brewers organization and the Washington Nationals organization. That experience shaped the mindset he brings to real estate today: preparation, discipline, resilience, and the ability to stay calm and execute under pressure.

Clients describe KJ as patient, responsive, and genuinely caring — someone who takes the time to explain every step and helps buyers feel confident making one of the biggest decisions of their lives. His communication style is clear, educational, friendly, and direct, and he’s known for being highly responsive and detail-oriented, typically replying within hours. Whether you’re looking to buy a home in Hawaiʻi Kai, sell a home in Kahala, purchase your first condo, or explore a luxury home or investment opportunity, KJ’s goal is simple: make the process feel manageable, strategic, and fully supported.

Outside of real estate, KJ enjoys golfing, going to the beach, staying active in the gym, and spending time with friends and family. He also gives back to the community as an assistant coach for varsity baseball at Punahou School, where he graduated in 2014.

If you’re thinking about buying or selling on Oʻahu — or anywhere in Hawaiʻi — let’s talk about your goals.

The name Kapōlei, meaning beloved Kapō, is a reference to the Hawaiian goddess, Kapō-`ula-kina`u. Kapō in Hawaiian means “the darkness”, an important, undeniable force in the natural world. In Hawaiian legend, pō, night, is the realm of gods and spirits, while ao, day, is the realm of mortals.
